A Beautiful Koala Poem by Egoliadze

Wild Koala Day Poetry Competition 2024

In Koala Gardens, Where Dreams Take Flight

Clinger is shown from below as he sleeps in a eucalyptus tree. Against a background of leaves and blue sky his pale fur is a similar colour to that of the bark of the tree. He is sitting on a narrow branch, facing forward. His head is leaning to the right and is resting on the branch in front of him, giving the appearance of his peering out form behind it. His healthy pink chin can be seen, partially obscured buy a cluster of leaves. His nose pattern, whish resembles a heart shape is fully in view.
    Alpha Male Koala Clinger

In Koala Gardens, where dreams take flight,
Amidst the eucalyptus, bathed in soft light.
    Katrina tends to nature’s call,
A steward of the land, giving her all.

Through the whispers of the gum trees tall,
She hears the koalas’ gentle call.
Their sanctuary, a haven of peace,
Where troubled hearts find sweet release.

Clinger is shown in a young eucalyptus tree. His full body can be seen from the front as he holds on to the narrow trunk with both feet and his right hand. His left hand is obscured by the foliage, but is likely holding on to the branch he is feeding from. He has a small leaf in his mouth. Against a background of grass, his face looks alert as he feeds. His large fluffy eats can be seen as can his heart-shaped nose pattern. The white fur on his chest and the underside of his arms contrasts with his pale brownish-grey coat.

In each rustle of leaves, a story untold,
Of resilience, of hope, of forests old.
For in this haven, life finds its dance,
As trees sway in a timeless trance.

With every step, a legacy bloom,
In the heart of nature, where life resumes.
Through misty tales, in children’s eyes,
    Koala Gardens’ spirit never dies.

So let us join, hand in hand,
In Katrina’s vision, where dreams expand.
For in Koala Gardens, love takes root,
And in its embrace, all hearts salute.

Clinger is on the ground in long grass, he is reaching up to grab some young plantation tress for a meal. The wire netting designed to protect the trees can be seen but was clearly no match for Clinger who has managed to grasp the leaves at the top of the sapling. Clinger is shown from the rear, his hands can be seen reaching up for the leaves. His eyes are open and he looks alert, concentrating on his task.
