Newman

Newman was young maturing male first seen at Koala Gardens in late June 2019, staying for a for a total of 33 days. He was a dark colour and whilst not as large and round as alpha male Hugo, was still a good size, and well-muscled.

Newman was often seen following Stevie and may be the father of her 2020 joey.  He left when she did, in mid February 2020, so let’s hope that they settled somewhere quite close by.

Facing left and against a background of leaves, male koala Newman is asleep in a fork of a tree. He is holding onto the stem in front of him with his left front paw and his chin in resting on his left arm. His face is shown in left profile , showing his large dark nose and white chin. His left foot is dangling free and his right foot can be seen between his body and the tree as he holds his right leg in front of him.
A head shot of Newman in a tree, surrounded by branches and leaves and looking over his right shoulder to camera The 5 digits on his right hand can be seen as he holds the tree. His large dark nose, white chin and fluffy ears are shown His eyes are open, he looks relaxed.
Facing left, Newman is holding on to a tree trunk in front of him with all four paws. He has turned his head to look over his left shoulder. The camera angle on his nose and chin gives the impression that he is smiling. His eyes are closed.

There is video of Newman on YouTube where he appears in the Koala Gardens Happenings for 2019 and 2020.
