White is beautiful when it’s a koala
The importance of a white bottom like Shyla displays here cannot be overstated for koalas.
In response to the stress of losing habitat, and the strain of chlamydia that sheep introduced to Australia (chlamydia pecorum), koalas succumb to bladder infections by this insidious bacteria. The infection causes the bladder walls to thicken and loose their elasticity and so the bladder can't hold the urine. This makes the urine just dribble out constantly and causes what we know as 'wet bottom'.
