Zorro

Zorro was a mature alpha when first identified in March 2015. He was probably already breeding with females in the colony. At this time Zorro was the alpha male ruling over 10% of the property. As an alpha his home range extended far beyond the boundaries of the Koala Gardens. He  was very important to the genetics of the colony. He was only seen at Koala Gardens 18 times between March and September,

Facing left and shown against a background of leaves, alpha male Zorro is sitting across two branches, which his left foot is dangling between. He is looking over his left shoulder to camera. His eyes are open and he looks relaxed.
Large alpha male koala Zorro is sitting in the fork of a tree, surrounded by leaves and branches and facing left. He is holding onto the stem in front of him with all four paws and looking over his left shoulder to camera. His eyes are open and he looks alert. His white chin stands out against his dark brown-grey fur.

During 2016 he was identified on the property 54 times, a sign that his influence on the property was increasing. During the winter months he ventured further into the property to areas he had not entered the previous year,. He was possibly looking to expand his territory. Alhough Zorro only used a small section of the property, in 2017 he fathered a joey with Racee and possibly Greta.

Against a background of branches and leaves, alpha male koala Zorro is sitting in a tree facing right. He is looking upwards and the light is catching the white fur on his chin and chest, contrasting with his dark grey-brown coat. His eyes are open and he looks alert.

Zorro was on the property 49 times from January until September 2017, when was last seen looking healthy and strong. It is not known whether he changed his home range or met with misadventure. The last time he was seen coincided with the time Bullet and Takeshi were both seen frequently in territory disputes over the area Zorro normally ruled. Legion was also around at that time.

Against a background of leaves, Zorro is sitting in the fork of a tree facing right. He is looking over his right shoulder to camera. His eyes are open and he looks alert.
Surrounded by leaves, alpha male Zorro is in the fork of a tree facing left. His back is pressed to the tree trunk and lying along a narrow semi-horizontal branch in front of him, which he is holding with his front paws. His head is resting with his chin on his left front paw. As his eyes appear to be partly open, he is likely resting rather than asleep.

Zorro has lots of videos on YouTube  where he  has his own playlist. (below). He appears in the Koala Gardens Happenings for 2015, 2016 and 2017.
